10th Photomonth in Krakow 2012

Photomonth in Krakow’s 10th birthday will be graced by magnificent exhibitions by unquestioned stars of both older and contemporary world photography. This year's MAIN PROGRAM includes exhibitions by Alexander Rodchenko, Jerzy Lewczyński, Sally Mann, Sergey Bratkov, and photographs of celebrities from the collection of Cezary Pieczyński.

An important INNOVATION in the formula of the Festival is the EXPERIMENTAL SECTION, which will take place in the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery. Under the leadership of the famous British critic Charlotte Cotton (the author, inter alia, of the guide to modern art photography "The Photograph as Contemporary Art"), with the participation of several Polish curators and academics, an innovative comprehensive interdisciplinary project will be presented there. Its formula, in accordance with the keyword for this year's Festival, will be open to – and for – the audience. Admission to this exhibition is free throughout its duration.

The next part of  Photomonth in Krakow’s exhibition programme is the ShowOFF SECTION. The Jury (composed this year of 5 creative duets of recognised artists and curators, including: Zuza Krajewska and Bartek Wieczorek, Grzegorz Piątek and Jarosław Trybuś) haven chosen ten projects from among the nearly 600 candidates. Together with the artists, they will create the exhibitions which will be presented in the  Photomonth in Krakow ShowOFF Section in May and June of 2012.

PLEASE NOTE! This year's Photomonth won’t just be in Krakow! The precursor to this year's Festival will be a Day of Photography in Warsaw, which – in April – will give a taste of the coming Krakow festival in the capital, with a programme full of meetings, screenings, workshops and exhibitions!

Harpo Foundation grantová výzva 2012 pro neznámé umělce

V roce 2012 podpoří rodinná Harpo Foundation tvorbu konkrétního díla od vizuálního umělce či tvůrčího týmu, který dosud v oblasti vizuálních umění nebyl objeven. Dílo může mít podobu instalace, veřejné intervence, rezidenčního pobytu či výstavy.

Uzávěrka pro předložení projektového záměru je 1. února 2012.
